Victoria's 5 Star Rating Scheme |
|
|
|
Victoria’s new 5 Star rating for residential homes is a key feature of the
Victorian government’s environmental policy and will help save our limited
energy and water resources.
From July 2004, all new homes in Victoria must feature a greater range of
energy efficiency and water saving features, improving occupant comfort and
reducing the cost of energy bills.
As a result of 5 Star, Victorians will enjoy new homes that are:
- better quality and more comfortable
- more affordable
- environmentally sound, and
- good for Victoria’s economy.
The Victorian Government, Sustainable Energy Authority Victoria and the
Building Commission are working with industry to implement the new 5 Star
standard. When fully operational, 5 Star will benefit the environment, drive
innovation and provide savings for consumers.

The Building Commission has issued a draft
