National RECS – Renewable Energy Certificates

Many solar hot water appliances are eligible for RECS (rebate) as part of the commitment to reduce electricity demand.

Many SHW manufacturers give a rebate at point of sale.

The process for applying for the Solar Hot Water Rebate changed on 8 April 2008. The process has been streamlined to make it easier for applicants.

VIC
Currently, Victorian Government Solar Hot Water Rebates are available for SEAV accredited solar water heaters when replacing an existing gas or solid fuel hot water system, or converting an existing hot water system to solar. For most other situations, such as replacing an electric hot water system or installing a solar hot water system in a new home, an alternative benefit is available through Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Contact a manufacturer for details.
To help increase consumer uptake of renewable energy, the Victorian Government administers a Rebate Program to support the installation of solar water heaters.
